Tea Recipe: Matcha Lemonade

With the weather finally starting to show signs that summer is imminent, I thought I’d share one of my favorite tea-infused refreshments, Matcha Lemonade. Sweet, tangy, and chock-full of antioxidants (some reports say as much as 137 times more antioxidants than regular green tea!), this bright green drink will make this a summer to remember!

Here’s how to make it:

8 oz fresh-squeezed lemonade, recipe follows
1/2 teaspoon Matcha, sifted to remove lumps
2 oz gin or vodka, optional

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake thoroughly for 20 seconds then strain into your favorite glass.

2 cups sugar
1 cup hot water
2 cups fresh-squeezed lemon juice (from approx 8-10 lemons)
a little less than 1 gallon cold water

In a 1 gallon container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and just enough cold water to make 1 gallon. Stir until well mixed.
