This past Sunday I had the honor to present quite a few of my tea cocktail creations at the 6th Annual NYC Coffee and Tea Festival, all of which were met with a thirsty excitement.

One of the favorite tea cocktail recipes that I demonstrated was a homemade version of Sweet Tea vodka, a soon-to-be staple in all tea lovers’ arsenals.  Today, since we all know how easy it is make, we are going to use it in another tea cocktail recipe!

yum!This is a tea-infused version of the classic cocktail, the Dark ‘N’ Stormy – a rum and ginger beer cocktail popular in many British Commonwealth countries.

I call my version the Dark, Sweet and Stormy.

Dark, Sweet and Stormy

2 oz. homemade Sweet Tea vodka

1 oz. dark rum (look for either “aged rum” or “red rum” if you can’t find it under “dark”)

3 oz. ginger ale

1/2 lime

Pour all of the ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice. Squeeze in juice from the lime and stir.
