Drink Your Way Through the Holidays with Tea

There is a chill in the air, carols playing in the store, and strings of lights adorn each house along the block.  It can mean only one thing, the holidays are here!

While this season can be “the most wonderful time of the year,” it can also be quite stressful, we can overindulge a bit on the eggnog and can tend to eat a little less than healthy.  But no worries – there is a tea for that!

For thousands of years, humans have been using chamomile to help calm the senses and help the body relax and prepare for sleep.  This is especially important during the holidays, with all the Black Friday shopping, end-of-year work responsibilities, and, let’s not forget, visits from extended family.

Because of this stress, many folks may end up adding an extra finger to their nightcap to help them unwind.  One leads to two, and so on and so on.  The next morning, you probably won’t feel so jolly.  Luckily, there’s another tea that can help – Black Ginger is perfect, in that the ginger can help calm your irritated stomach, while the black tea will provide the caffeinated boost of energy that will help you get through the rough morning.

And then there’s the food.  Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we eat a lot of food (and let’s not forget all those Christmas cookies you sneaked out of the cookie jar when you thought no one was looking). This can lead to various tummy troubles, which can make the season considerably less merry.  By ending your meal with a little peppermint tea, however, you can help your body digest all that food and settle your stomach!

Of course, I am in no way saying you should stress yourself out, get drunk and overeat for the next few weeks.  “Everything in moderation” is always a sensible philosophy.  But just in case the holidays make things less than sensible, there’s a tea for that!

Happy Holidays!
