Most doctors will tell you that the major cause of heart disease (besides heredity) is an improper diet. This is because the high-fat, low-nutrition diet that most Americans are used to (thanks to the plethora of quick and convenient fast foods available) causes fatty streaks (not really fat, but white blood cells) to develop on the walls of our arteries.
These streaks can become fibrous plaques which disrupt blood circulation, leading to myriad heart problems. This is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and also throughout most of the Civilized World.
However, a new study shows that (on top of eating better, which is always wise!), drinking tea can help reduce those fatty build-ups significantly. Remarkably, in some cases it proved to be up to a 96 percent reduction!
The study also went on to say that several fruit juices (fresh fruit, not that sugar-laden stuff sitting in the middle aisles of the supermarket!), specifically raspberry, strawberry and bilberry juices, have similar effects.
So instead of ordering those fatty foods, reach for your teacup – do your heart some good!
