Bladder cancer, it may surprise you, is the fifth most common form of cancer in the United States (well, it surprised me).
There are many factors which are believed to raise the risk of bladder cancer, including age, gender, diet and dozens of other health factors. But according to a recent study, one dietary application may actually help fight bladder cancer: drinking tea.
More specifically, the article states that the chemical compounds found naturally in tea seem to actually target cancerous bladder cells, while leaving healthy cells alone. In this way, they say, the tea can inhibit the growth of the cancer cells and help the patient recover quicker.
Luckily, although it is one of the most common forms of cancer, bladder cancer is also one of the easiest to detect, and when diagnosed in the early stages it is fairly treatable.
But it is good to know that, just in case, tea has got your back!
