GoyaIt is fairly well known in the Tavalon office that if your friendly neighborhood Tea Sommelier goes just one day without tea, things can get a bit scary.

But, as it turns out, going without tea can also effect your evening.

According to some new research, drinking a cup or more on a daily basis may make you 50 percent less likely to have nightmares than occasional or non-drinkers.

It is thought that this is due to the amino acid found naturally in tea, L-theanine, which has the calming effect on the brain needed to avoid those bad dreams.

The study – which was based on 1,000 men and women – also found that women had an 80 per cent higher risk of nightmares.

So it is especially important for my foxy female readers to keep steepin’.

Here’s to dreams of healthy, happy cups of tea!
