19 January 2010 - 18:51Serenity for Haiti

Last Tuesday, January 12, Haiti faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion.  An earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several unusually strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from country’s capital and most populated area, Port-au-Prince.

Help HaitiIt is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people have died, and millions are now homeless (many of which are now orphaned children).  Still today, over 2 million people in Haiti face this catastrophe with little hope in sight.

I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse.  So we at Tavalon are trying to do something to add a little serenity into these victims’ lives.

Starting today, we’ll be donating 40% of the proceeds of sales of our Serenity blend, our bestselling winter tea, to UNICEF’s Haiti Relief Fund.

To do so, simply pick up any size of Serenity and we’ll automatically make the donation for you.  And if you want to donate even more to the fund directly, visit UNICEF’s donation site here.

Thanks for your support!
